Chinese Interpol Leader Missing in China

Interpol President Meng Hongwei has been reported missing by his wife after his return from France to China. His whereabouts are unknown but many believe that he may have been abducted by the ongoing anti corruption action that has swept the nation led by President Xi Jingping. However, no confirmation of this assumption has been proven at this time.

While this is shocking and unexpected it is not common for people to disappear in China. The nation has a standing reputation for kidnapping its own citizens for many reasons including alleged corruption or any kind of human rights collaboration against the government.

Citizens that have been abducted usually show up months later having been tried in court and prosecuted without representation if they even show up at all.
