Chinese Actress’ Face Examined in Court Case

A top Chinese actresses’ face has been determined by medical professionals to be “genuine” following a court order that she have her face examined.

Actress Angelababy is suing Beijing beauty clinic Ruli for defamation after it alleged in one of its online articles in 2012 that the actress has had plastic surgery performed on her face.

The 26-year-old actress, who’s real name is Yeung Wing, underwent several X-ray scans and tests including a face-prodding procedure on Thursday at a plastic surgery hospital in the capital.

Hospital Chief Qi Zuoliang declared that Angelababy’s face shows no evidence indicating it went under the knife.

“Baby’s entire head and facial bones do not have any signs of incisions,” he told reporters, using a popular abbreviation of the actress’ stage name.

Angelababy is seeking 500,000 yuan ($79,000) in compensation.

For years, the actress has faced rumors about plastic surgery. Photos supposedly showing her image before the alleged operation have been circulating the Web in recent years.

The doctor’s announcement comes a week after Angelababy married actor Huang Xiaoming in a highly-publicized wedding that Chinese media is calling one of the most lavish the country has ever seen. It reportedly cost 200 million yuan ($31.5 million).

The actor has defended his wife’s claims in the past.

“I’m not an idiot, I definitely can tell she hasn’t had plastic surgery, sometimes she doesn’t put on makeup and she really looks like those ugly pictures of her,” he said during a 2014 interview..
